Case study: Wild Goose by Inhope

The award-winning Wild Goose Drop-in Centre, run by inHope, provides free hot meals, shower facilities, clothing, and toiletries to those in extreme poverty and need. The charity provides approximately 130 hot meals a day, and is open four days and six nights a week. Therefore, the centre relies on efficient and ethical business services to support its charitable mission.

The challenge

  • High waste costs: All food waste was going into general waste bins, leading to frequent and expensive collections.
  • Environmental goals: inHope wanted to improve its sustainability by switching to renewable energy but was concerned about the time and complexity of managing contracts.

Our solution

We partnered with inHope to make their waste and energy services more efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with their values:

  • Waste management: Procured a local food recycling supplier, reducing the volume of general waste and cutting collection costs.
  • Energy procurement: Handled the full process of switching to renewable energy suppliers, from sourcing to supplier management, ensuring a seamless transition without disrupting operations.

The results

Our comprehensive merchant services solution delivered, and will continue to deliver, measurable value for the charity:

  • 23% annual savings on waste management costs.
  • Improved environmental credentials with both waste and energy aligned to the charity’s ethical ethos.

The next steps

With waste and energy services streamlined, inHope can focus resources on supporting those who need them most.
